K. made a new friend with a little one whose parents and grandparents are friends of the family. He is only three months older than her, but the last time we got together with them, he was recently born and K. wasn't yet. She likes people, but seems especially interested in kids and babies (unlike her mom, who is afraid of both of the aforementioned).
"K., you are the fairest little lady in all the land. The pleasure of acquaintance is mine."
"Away with you. Daddy won't let me talk to boys."
"Ooh, but where did you get this great polo shirt?"
