Sweet Smiling Sisters

Finally, the girls both smile!  My next goal is to get them to look at the camera simultaneously while smiling, though I’ll happily take what I can get.  Here’s the best:DSC_1000..And here are the others that capture some cute moments:DSC_0996.DSC_1002. DSC_1004.The secret behind the smiles?  Dad was standing behind Mom playing around with a broom that he periodically “threatened” the girls with.  Hilarity ensued.DSC_1001.P.S. The white things under K’s skirt are attached white shorts.  Nothing indecent here.

First Feeding

“What is all this stuff Mom keeps shoving at my face?”DSC_0949.

“Hold on…I have to eat food?  Solids?”DSC_0938.

“Well, then.” DSC_0935.

[note sarcasm]: “Wowee Mom.  Food!  Yippee!”DSC_0936.

Just the Girls

Though I prefer to be behind the camera, I like to have pictures of me with the girls (and really, I need to pull the tripod out so we can get Dad in the picture, too, but have you ever tried to take a timed photo with a two-year-old and a baby?  Yeah, it works about as well as you imagine it might.  So we stick to the two-kids-with-one-parent pictures.)

K: “Hee hee, I can’t believe Mom’s trying to get a picture of the three of us!”

Mom: “Smile…or else…”

N: “Pfffffbt.”DSC_0811..I think the next one is the best one of the bunch—I’m a little funny but K. looks like a total angel in it.DSC_0794.. This one is a little better of me, but I am visibly squishing both girls.DSC_0801.    DSC_0865.  DSC_0868.

Our Random K.

After church:DSC_0735.    I think K. looks quite grown-up in these next photos.  Maybe not the crazy faces she’s making, but there’s something about them.DSC_0771. DSC_0777.DSC_0776. And my sweet girl, all tuckered out.DSC_0786.The other day, K. was playing dress up.  Since we weren’t going anywhere, she stayed in her favorite—a neon orange tutu.  She played outside a bit and found a piece of hose left from Dad’s sprinkler system project.  I guess I need to purchase her a hula-hoop.DSC_0713.

A picture of K, chilling.DSC_0731.I’m a little jealous of her lips!

Little Sakura

We planted some trees in our back yard, and one of Dad’s requirements is that we own a cherry tree.  He already missed the one at our old house, so that was the first tree to be planted in our new backyard.  It only blooms for a couple of days, so my time for photos was limited.DSC_0646. DSC_0651  DSC_0661.And, knowing this was my only chance for blossom pictures this spring, the girls, of course, did not cooperate.  DSC_0680.  But I love them anyway.DSC_0696. DSC_0705. DSC_0708.

Playset Adventures

(Advance apologies for the huge quantity of pictures in this post).

Dad and Mom put together a playset for the girls in our backyard, and K. had a great time trying out everything.  Here is Dad, just after finishing the last touches.  For the record, Mom helped quite a bit too (and our super neighbor came over and helped as well!  Thank you!).  And Mom and Dad were able to communicate and put the playset together without any marriage-ending arguments.DSC_0515.View from our house:DSC_0532.K. climbing up the steps.  One of the appealing things about this particular model is that it has several levels joined with sets of two steps, so kids of younger ages can join in the playing as well.DSC_0483.Coming down from the “clubhouse” at the top to check out the telescope.DSC_0512.Spying on the neighbors.  Don’t worry, neighbors—there is no magnification in the telescope (but don’t tell K. that—she loves looking through it).DSC_0462.“Whoa, a slide!”DSC_0472. “Wheeeeee!” DSC_0479. “That was fun!  I’ll do it again!”DSC_0480.Going down the slide (again), while friend M. climbs the rock wall.  K. looks on, interested.DSC_0502.“I think I’ll give this rock wall a try.”  DSC_0495. “Okay, I totally cannot climb up the rock wall.  Humpf.”DSC_0499.Daddy to the rescue!  Here he comes!DSC_0500.Scaling the rock wall with a little help from Daddy.  K. gets the idea of it, but just needs a little parental support.DSC_0505.Swinging with Dad.  I love this picture.     DSC_0519.  Climbing up to the very top:DSC_0544.Even N. has a spot to play.  Here she swings and contemplates the meaning of life.DSC_0534.More sliding.  DSC_0547.More swinging: DSC_0550.
