We had a celebration for Dad’s birthday and Grandma and Grandpa came to visit.
Kate was excited about the cake (even though it wasn’t hers) and helped to sing “Happy Birthday.”
Happy Birthday to a wonderful father and husband!
The girls had a pair of friends over on Monday—K. and M. will be the same grade in school, and the little Ns are actually about the same distance apart as their big sisters.
Two babies, one swing. So cute.
And K. really likes little N—she’s much more interested in him than she was in her sister at that age.
M, N, and their mom. Such a sweet family! (Well, the rest of their family is sweet too but doesn’t appear in this picture as they’re all at school).
And perhaps rainboots with a princess gown is the newest fashion trend?
Future golfer? I’m curious to see what sport(s?) N. will ultimately choose.
So the April showers technically brought these May flowers, but it continues to rain. The sunnier days are nice, as both girls are old enough to enjoy being outside, but the rain happens anyway. I guess it is nice for our flowers and garden, especially since I am often forgetful in the watering department.
Sweet baby girl is eighteen months old now! I know it’s cliché, but I feel like the time has just flown by.
She is capable of so much now—walking and running, climbing (oh, the climbing), eating with fork and spoon (though not by preference), and communicating with us. She knows much of what we’re saying to her and can even say several words: Mama, Dada, Book, More, Milk, Cat (and “meow”), Dog, Bah (Betsy), Uh-huh (yes), Daisy, Wah (water), “I want that,” Shoe, Uh-oh, and Ball.
She is so full of energy and so feisty, but sweet at the same time. She give hugs and kisses (well, the kisses are her leaning into someone and saying “mwah”).
It warmed up for a few days, then rained the next, like, three weeks solid. I don’t mind the rain, but when you’ve had a taste of nice outdoorsy weather, it is less welcome. The sun returned and we spent much of the next two days outside.
N. is at an age where she finally likes to (and is able to) explore the yard and playset. She’s too little to walk down the steps without assistance, but she’s figured out a way around that.
We all enjoy the nice weather,
Another fun part of the spring are the bubbles! K. got a bubble gun from Grandma and Grandpa A. for Easter, and she delights her little sister with bubbles galore.
