Playing Around

We split our playtime between playing upstairs in the loft and girls’ rooms, and downstairs in the living room cage—affectionately named because of the large gate surrounding the room.  K. can climb freely in and out of the cage, as she can be trusted in the kitchen; N is contained._DSC2441._DSC2442._DSC2489_DSC2459._DSC2468._DSC2481.

Gray Gals

Sorry for the lag in posting—there has been illness for our house.  At this point, I’m the only one who got sick—I’m hoping that my obsessive hand-sanitizing and lack of baby snuggling pays off and the girls continue to stay well.  I’ll be catching up with some photos and what not—probably mostly photos and less of the what not._DSC2517.Here are some moments after church, um, two Sundays ago.  I made K’s skirt and wrote about making the skirt on my crafty blog.

N. is wearing a jumper that I made for her sister a while ago (when K. was N’s age).  It’s a little bit big, as their ages and seasons don’t quite match, but N. didn’t complain.

_DSC2537.Well, she complained about things, but not the jumper specifically._DSC2559.

The girls found one of the most fascinating toys yet—Dad’s wallet.  They were both intrigued, and I’m sure this will continue into their teen years…and beyond.

Good Dog Blue

I had a dog_DSC2343.

His name was Blue_DSC2369.

And I bet’cha five dollars he’s a good dog too._DSC2357

Come on, Blue,_DSC2341.

You good dog you!_DSC2333.

[And as an aside, N. has started carrying that baby around quite a bit.  I think the doll is the right combination of huggable and tasty.]

New Kicks

We have some friends with a daughters of similar age to K and N, and we have a sort-of reciprocal borrowing agreement for the young’uns—when we have things that don’t fit our youngest at the moment, we swap them back and forth.  It’s been working out great, and really the girls grow so quickly things don’t get worn a lot.

So N. is the beneficent of a few new pair of shoes (she’ll outgrow them just as her friend is going to grow into them) and tried one pair on.

_DSC2257.

Uncertain at first, she tried them out.

_DSC2243.

And definitely liked them.

Baby Buddies

_DSC2219.

N. and her friend C. had some fun playtime this morning.  She’s about 6 months older than him, but they’ll be the same year in school.  Eventually.  Right now, though, we’ll just enjoy their cuteness._DSC2225._DSC2212

“Hello, there, ladies.”

And unrelated: N. with her sippy.  She drinks from a straw, as she hasn’t quite mastered the tipping yet.

And so much cute!  We couldn’t have gotten them to pose like this if we had tried!

Post-Christmas Playtime

The girls love to play, and they’ve been getting a lot of mileage out of their Christmas gifts.  I love that they’re playing together more and more.IMG_0053.One of the gifts they got were sleeping bags.  N’s came with a tent, which I didn’t get on purpose—I only got it as part of the set with the sleeping bag I wanted.  On a whim, I set it up in her room.

The girls love it!  I forgot how much fun it is to go in and out of a tent.IMG_0048.

And princess K._DSC1848.

Here is some random goofiness from the girls:IMG_0059.IMG_0061.IMG_0060.

New Year Neighbors

We had a low-key New Year’s eve with our wonderful neighbors.  They’re the cute ones in the picture below, pictured with the stunningly beautiful top of Natalie’s head.IMG_0092We tried to get all of the kiddos togetherIMG_0099.And N. with sweet M, who is so loving to babies.  She’ll be an awesome babysitter some day!IMG_0105.Later that evening, N. fell in love with a rocking chair.  She would climb up, rock, laugh, and then try to stand on it.IMG_0107.

Ladies in Red

Auntie D. got the girls a set of red corduroy jumpers and they wore them to church this morning.  They got several compliments on their cuteness.  They were tired after church (K. gets to sit in half of the service and goes to her class for the other half; N. sits in the nursery, pining for her mother) and we didn’t get a great photo.IMG_0161.

We took more pictures at home that afternoon.  And I don’t know if you can tell in this next picture, but N’s hand is a little blurry because she’s waving at me…and you!_DSC2019.And sweet K, snuggling with one of her sister’s bears:_DSC2025_DSC2034

I tried to get a nice picture of the girls, but that was an exercise in futility.  This one is close, but is just blurry enough to not actually be printable.  It’s still quite cute, and I love how kind K. is to her sister.  She gets annoyed with her sometimes, but is becoming more accepting, and I think we’ll have a point where it gets a little easier—I know they won’t play together perfectly all of the time, but there will be a time when N. knows that she’s grabbing K’s toys.

_DSC2055.

I let N. play with one of my bracelets—she’d been having a rough day.  Her nose is a bit runny and if I calculated correctly, she’s got about 8 teeth that will be coming in in the near future.  Poor kid!_DSC2118._DSC2119.
