Driving with Friends
K. and her sister both really enjoy playing with toy cars—my sister and I did when we were younger, so it is not surprising. We keep a stockpile of cars here, which are especially a hit with all of the girls’ guy friends who come over to play.
And these pictures are from the same playdate (a little while ago—sorry I’m a bit behind on blogging). They are unrelated to automobiles, but too cute to leave out.

Spring Preview
“What is that hiding just around the corner? Spring?”
“I am suspicious. I’ll believe it when I see it.”
With wisdom that our wonderful warm weather would wane, we took advantage of the sunshine and ran around outside for a few minutes before dinner. And an aside? N’s pants are homemade.
K. was a super big sister and shared her sand table with N. And I actually mean that—she actually invited N. over to play with her.
N. was quite interested in the sand and the toys, and did not choose to eat handfuls of it as I feared she might.
And the girls really loved it. They come from parents who enjoy the outdoors, so it isn’t surprising.
And look what a beautiful young lady K. is becoming!
And N. bravely ventured into the grass. It was tentative at first, but I think she’ll get the hang of it.
Just a glimpse of warmer things to come!

Sweet Little Faces
Oh, the little N. is just so much sweetness!
She is growing up and puts toys in her mouth still, but also plays with the appropriately. She will make toy cars drive, brush her hair with a hairbrush, snuggle with dolls, talk on the play phone, have tea parties with her sister, and more.
Sometimes she’s filled with the Spirit…
(Actually, she does fold her hands for prayer before we eat a meal, and says “amen” (give or take)).
She’s pretty chatty, and so friendly! She says “hi” and waves to most everyone she sees. The first words she said were “hi” and “bye,” followed by “mom” and “dad.” She says a lot of things at the moment. Some of them she just stumbles upon, but since they’re so appropriately timed it is hard to be sure.
The other day, our blond dog stuck her head in N’s bedroom. N pointed and said, “Daisy.”
She carries her baby (or sometimes another animal or doll) around almost all of the time.
And girlfriend can eat! I think she matches her dad and me bite for bite, and she has not come across any food she won’t eat. (I’m crossing my fingers she won’t become picky when she’s a toddler.) She’s so active that she must burn a ton of calories—after all, she only weighs about 30 pounds.

Newborn Friend
We went over to our friend’s house to visit sweet newborn H.
K. was more interested in H. than N. was—except when I was holding the baby. N. was not too pleased about that. Jealous much?
The girls spent most of the time playing. There were a good number of new-to-them toys to play with and explore.
Their friend S. shared nicely with them.
He has moments of being one of the most sweet children ever!
K. discovered his new kitchen (which is red!—K’s favorite color) and played with it pretty much the entire time.
