One of my dear aunts loves all things frilly, and the title of this post is something she exclaimed while shopping for her wedding dress several years ago. She also loves her nieces (my sister and I), and loves her grand-nieces. She sent my girls matching (yea!) dresses to wear, and they’re darling! K. and N. are so blessed to have such wonderful family in their lives.
The last moments of blooming from my lilac:
I think the girls might look the same when they’re 86 and 88:
N: “Looks like it might rain again.”
K: [knitting] “Sure does.”
N: “Do you remember where I put my teeth?”
Kate playing with a flag. (Don’t worry—we were done digging and didn’t need it to mark something any longer).
Mama and girls. Thanks, Daddy, for being willing to take our picture. Sorry, daddy, that I dragged you outside while your lunch waited inside. Sorry also that the dogs swiped your lunch and ate it while you were outside taking pictures and wrangling the baby (Dad’s in the first picture, though you can’t actually see him). And the tongue thing? I must have learned it from the baby.
