Fall Field Trip

K. went on her first field trip!  Their class went to a nearby orchard (the same one we’ve gone to as a family several times).  I think K. was glad that I was able to come along, but she was mostly focused on the things we were learning.  They wore their green school shirts for the trip, so I had to make some matching bows, of course.DSC_7201.

Listening to a presentation about apples, how they’re grown, and how to pick them.DSC_7206.

The four apples she picked off of the tree.  She helped me pick my four as well.DSC_7215.

With her teacher.  She loves her teacher so much, and has so much fun in her class.DSC_7219.

On a hayride with her classmates (and many of their parents).DSC_7224.

Picking her pumpkin.  Very pleased that all of the tractors on the farm were International.  I don’t know what we would have done if something else was pulling they wagon for the hayride.DSC_7233 (2).Mother-daughter self-photography.DSC_7238.

And they had some time to play in the giant play area.DSC_7240.

Tossing International-themed bean bags.  Her aim is decent for being a four-year-old and she actually got some in the hole.DSC_7244.

In the hay maze with her buddy T.  He has a different teacher at school, but their classes went together on the trip.DSC_7251.

Little Buddies

We had a playdate with one of N’s good friends.  Most of the time, they were playing and I wasn’t hovering with the camera, but they took a moment to relax and snuggle and they were so cute!DSC_7189DSC_7191

Fantastic Family Time

We had an amazing trip to the Grandma and Grandpa L’s house—and they had two additional visitors for us to spend time with: Great Auntie D. and Great Grandma!

The girls with their Auntie:DSC_7172.I cannot even tell you what a good time they all had!DSC_7162.Four generations of the L. family—Great Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, and kiddos.DSC_7114.

Great Grandma with her Great-Granddaughters:DSC_7125 Fuse.

But this is what happens when you make faces and try to make a nearly-two-year-old laugh—instead, she just mimics the faces!DSC_7132.

So many smiles during the visit!DSC_7133.K. scooted around a lot on the scooter, but paused for a photo.DSC_7146.

N. with her grandma.  My friend says they look a lot alike.  I think their eyes are really similar.DSC_7155.Silly N.DSC_7160.I love moments like this one:DSC_7161.

Four generations, outside and with better lighting.  The children are less cooperative, though.DSC_7183 (2).DSC_7185.We spent a great deal of time playing.  N. was perpetually bringing cups of “tea” to everyone, and you can see that Great Grandma has been given a napkin.IMGP5008.IMGP5012.IMGP5014.IMGP5017.IMGP5019.

I don’t remember to where they are driving, but it was an involved car trip:IMGP5022.And N. would often go sit with Great Grandma.  I think she’s trying to share her sippy cup at this moment.IMGP5024. (2)And checking out Great Grandma’s watch.IMGP5025.

The weather was nice so we took a walk down to the park (actually, my Grandma really likes to walk so we took several walks).  With as much as she likes to move, it is no surprise that N. loves to swing.IMGP5035.IMGP5030.

The girls playing together on a springy thing.  I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it recently, but the girls have really been playing well together.  Not without fights, of course, but they’re playing the same things at the same time and interacting really well.  Plus, as N. gets older she is physically able to keep up with K. more.IMGP5036.

It was a most wonderful trip!

Park Pals

We went for a picnic and playdate at the park with our friend E. and her son J (who is close to N’s age).  K. absolutely adores E. and was elated to be invited to a picnic.  We played for a while before lunch and the girls had a great time.  They’re at an age (and the park is set up nicely) so they can both play.IMG_0072.

N. has become quite the climber.IMG_0076.

And follows her big sister everywhere.IMG_0078.

Wheeee!IMG_0082.

And look what K. has learned to do!  She’s become so much more brave and adventurous this summer!IMG_0086.

And perhaps N. has a future as a track star?

Necklace N

N. loves to wear bracelets and necklaces: “neh…neh” said with urgency whenever she’s not wearing one.  Here she poses briefly with a pair of necklaces.  PS: K. made the blue and green one.DSC_7006.DSC_7065.

Basement Grouches

I’ll take some more pictures eventually, but B. finished finishing the playroom and media room part of the basement.  The girls have been having a wonderful time running and playing with each other and with friends.  Here they take a momentary pause to frown for the camera.DSC_6963.
