Gym Rat

Baby N. loves playing at her gym.  She finds it fascinating to have things to stare at, and has started batting at the hanging objects with her hands.  I’m always amazed to see how babies learn.

Three Tremendous Months

Three months ago, this beautiful girl joined our family.  Three months doesn’t seem like a long time, but I can’t picture our family without her.  She’s been such a blessing and I love her a ridiculous amount!

K. seems to be adapting well to her new role as a big sister.   Not every moment is a happy one for N., but she’s beautiful even when she cries.    And my sweet girls, who apparently take turns at being happy and prefer not to smile at the same time:  

Playful Monday

K. had a really fun playdate this morning with her friend L.  While they were busy playing together in the basement (which they did for nearly two hours!), the moms and baby N. were upstairs chillin’ (and watching the kids thanks to the nifty surveillance cameras my husband set up). 

If you thought I took a lot of pictures of my children, gentle reader, hold on to your hat—I got a new camera this past weekend and suspect an influx of photos.

Sunday Miscellany

Sundays are full days for us, as I’m occupied the entire morning, then we have our scheduled afternoon nap, and small group every other Sunday evening.  This particular Sunday we skipped the adult nap in favor or readying the house to host small group, but that’s neither here nor there.  I went to pick up N. from the nursery after the church service, but she had been picked up already by my friend—because they matched.  I do find that a perfectly legitimate reason to hold a child, so I figure it was okay.

Though some people in the world wear dresses all the time, our family is not like that and we prefer to change into something more casual when we get home.  Here’s N’s outfit she wore the rest of the day.  I think her onesie is hilarious, and I was pleased to find it at the store.  And here are the smiles that she didn’t have for the morning photo. And we’re  done with the smiling.  It was fun while it lasted but it is now, apparently, time for a nap.

Four Girls, One Sleeper

  I knew once I wrote this post, you would just be so excited to see my sister and I in the same sleeper that my girls both have worn.  Wait no more, gentle reader.  Here are the pictures, in chronological order.

Thursday Sweets

N, wearing a super-cute outfit from our friend A, who moved recently.  We still miss her so much!

And an attempt at the sisters.  The littler one cooperated, looked at the camera, and smiled.  The one who actually understands words?  Not so much on the following of directions.But she did partake in a photobomb later. Watching TV.  She had her friend B. over to play this morning, and they played great!  They’re only a week apart and seemed to have a really fun time playing.  She’s all tuckered out now.And I’ll leave you with a smile for this wonderful Thursday!

Curly Crafty Crafty

Despite my own upbringing with limited hair accessories, I like to decorate the hair/heads of my children.  I think it’s more because I like the excuse to craft, rather than being particularly attached to accessorizing (unlike an unnamed friend of mine who greets me not with “hello” but with “where is N’s headband?”).  The newest craft I’ve wandered into making are the so-named “korker” ribbons popular with toddlers and cheerleaders.  I was certain that I would set my house aflame or at least melt ribbon all over my oven, but alas I did not, and I have some finished products to show for my work.

Here are K’s pigtails with ribbons.  She likes the way they bounce when she turns her head from side to side.

Multi-Generational Sleeper

One of my mom’s favorite characters is Snoopy (who, since I don’t use names on the blog, we will hereafter refer to as “S”—kidding).  The following is a sleeper that both my sister and I have worn, and now both K. and her sister have worn it as well.

Afternoon Accessorizing

After playgroup on Tuesday, the girls were just hanging out.  I have acquired some new “hair accessories” for N.  (I use that term loosely, as she doesn’t really have hair so much so they’re more like “head accessories.”)

Here’s the before:  And the after.  She’s all coordinated.

“Mmm, not sure how I feel about this.” And of course, K. wanted in on the accessorizing (“Hair…band…flower”).

“Hey, I look pretty cute!” K. played in front of the mirror for a while, admiring.

Pink Monday

N, wearing an outfit from her cousin.  N. smiles daily, now, and I can almost always make her smile.  It always warms my heart—there are few things as wonderful as baby smiles! So she maybe? has a dimple on her left cheek.  You can kind-of see it in the first and last pictures here.  What do you think?  It’s not particularly prominent, but I think she has one?  K. does, and so do I, so it would be fun if she has one and I’m not just imagining it.  Regardless, though, she’s a beauty.
