With Friends

This past week, one of my dear friends from college and her two boys came to stay with us while her hubby was in town working for the week. It was a delight to spend some quality time with her, and K. actually had a really good time having two brothers for the week. You, gentle reader, might remember that we visited them this past fall. K. also learned some tricks from A. when she was younger.
On Wednesday, we met up with another good friend from college (and her former roommate, aka "Roommate,") and her daughters at the Children's Museum. Here's the entire crew, tired at the end of the day and ready for naps. From left to right: E. (6 months), A. (just over 2), E. (turns 2 this month), H. (9 weeks or so), and K. (21 months). Two brothers, two sisters, and my little one.
So A. and her boys were here all week, but I pretty much only got museum pictures. S. and her girls came over Thursday also, and there is no photographic evidence of that either. We did have a great time, though!
K. and A. in the racecar.
K. and E. in the car while A. hurries to leave (too many girls, I guess).
Apparently my daughter is part cat.
Riding on a foam cow. The first time she met that cow, she was just pulling up and not even walking without assistance.
All three of the older kiddos (the ones who can stand independently) playing at the water table.
Brushing the teeth of a dinosaur and learning about good hygiene.
Putting rocks in a wheelbarrow at the museum. She and her two friends (the older ones, not the babies) spent a lot of time playing in this area.
I see yardwork in someone's future...
It's hard to tell from the photo, but K. is staring at some "fsh" (fish) in this photo. She was intrigued and were it not for the lure of lunch, may have stayed there for a while.
We had so much fun with my (and now K's) friends. It was so great to have them over and hope to do it again in the summer!

Just Miscellaneous

Peek-a-whatever

Where is K? "Peek-a-boo!"
"Wait, you knew I was there all along?"
"Fine, then. Whatever."
P.S. What does K. keep in her purse? Toy cars.

Pretty Sunday

Some cute K. photos taken after church this past Sunday:

Hours of Amusement

Step 1: find empty wipes container and one wipe. Push button to open lid. Step 2: Put wipe inside box.
Step 3: Close lid.
Step 4: Open box.
Step 5: Retrieve wipe from inside box.
Step 6: Repeat, and enjoy!

Friends

My friend and her three-month-old were over to play the other day. K. was, of course, interested in the baby. He was playing on a blanket and his mom was bicycling his legs, so she let K. try. She was so sweet with him!
I know the next picture isn't of great quality, but I though K's happiness in it was so cute!
(P.S. Her friend is super-cute--sorry I didn't get anything but the top of his head in these pictures)

Snacking Cuteness

K. and I went to hang out with some of her friends (and mine) during their spring break. K., who will not smile for me if there is a camera anywhere in the vicinity, was cheesing it up for my friend, who graciously gave me a copy of this photo.

A Horse With a Name

K. has a new trusty companion, a rocking horse who she has fondly named "Neigh." She will address Neigh by name and the other morning when I was changing her out of her PJs, she kept asking to ride.
She even took her cat "cat" along for a ride.

Happy Easter!

A few highlights from Easter. It was pretty chilly, thus the coat over her dress, but it was beautifully sunny outside.
"Hi!"
But the highlight, perhaps, was that our next-door neighbor brought over a snake for her to look at. She was very interested.
K. at church with her sweetly coordinated friends. Someday she, too, will learn to smile on command.

Hunting and Gathering

We went to an easter egg hunt at church (we went last year, too, but she didn't do any hunting). This year she was able to carry her bucket around and collect eggs. She's not particularly agressive, and if another kid got in her way she'd just sort of stand there, but hopefully she'll learn to stand up for herself at some point. With friend L., who, when finished collecting eggs of her own, came over to help K. with hers. Too cute!
"Lookie what I have in my basket!"
"Come on, Dad, let's go eat* some of this!" *Note: no candy was actually consumed by the little one on this day, but she busted through several packages of fruit snacks. Oh, well. It's only once a year.

A Day at the Museum

We went with our friends to the Children's Museum again, and it was a fantastic time. K. was old enough to do many of the activities--play at a water table, play at a sand table (though fortunately did the water after the sand), and visit a lot of the exhibits to play. That, unfortunately, means I spent all of my time watching her and playing with her, and not taking photos. Here are some pictures from lunch:"Where did my friend S. go? There she is!"

Overcoming Obstacles

We received an inflatable obstacle course/ball pit from a friend who was done with it. Dad was nice enough to inflate it with his air compressor, and K. had a great time playing with it.
"Wheeee!"

Multitasking

K. got a new car seat for her babies, and apparently it wasn't enough to just carry it around: "See?"
