Happy Easter!

A few highlights from Easter. It was pretty chilly, thus the coat over her dress, but it was beautifully sunny outside.
"Hi!"
But the highlight, perhaps, was that our next-door neighbor brought over a snake for her to look at. She was very interested.
K. at church with her sweetly coordinated friends. Someday she, too, will learn to smile on command.

Hunting and Gathering

We went to an easter egg hunt at church (we went last year, too, but she didn't do any hunting). This year she was able to carry her bucket around and collect eggs. She's not particularly agressive, and if another kid got in her way she'd just sort of stand there, but hopefully she'll learn to stand up for herself at some point. With friend L., who, when finished collecting eggs of her own, came over to help K. with hers. Too cute!
"Lookie what I have in my basket!"
"Come on, Dad, let's go eat* some of this!" *Note: no candy was actually consumed by the little one on this day, but she busted through several packages of fruit snacks. Oh, well. It's only once a year.

A Day at the Museum

We went with our friends to the Children's Museum again, and it was a fantastic time. K. was old enough to do many of the activities--play at a water table, play at a sand table (though fortunately did the water after the sand), and visit a lot of the exhibits to play. That, unfortunately, means I spent all of my time watching her and playing with her, and not taking photos. Here are some pictures from lunch:"Where did my friend S. go? There she is!"

Overcoming Obstacles

We received an inflatable obstacle course/ball pit from a friend who was done with it. Dad was nice enough to inflate it with his air compressor, and K. had a great time playing with it.
"Wheeee!"

Multitasking

K. got a new car seat for her babies, and apparently it wasn't enough to just carry it around: "See?"

Little Sprite

After playing at our friend's house, K. came home and played in her new dress-up outfit. She's not able to put it on herself, but seems happy wearing it. Thanks, L. (and L's daughters, for outgrowing it).

In other news, K. appears to be obsessed with the outdoors, and continually stands by the door and says "side, go." Her other words include shoe, sock, hat, dog, goku, mom, dad, daisy, wow, uh-oh, bubbles, ball, baby, and book.

Reading Buddies

K, reading with her friend S. at our friend L's house.

Future Fencer?

K. might take up fencing at some point: (Of course, this is actually an empty basket from Red Lobster--we actually went out to eat and devoured many a cheddar bay biscuit between the three of us).

Sweet Sunday

After dinner K. and I walked around the neighborhood. She pushed her baby in the shopping cart, which always makes her happy. Once we returned home we played with a ball in the front yard. She noticed that our next-door neighbors have a basketball hoop, and walked over and motioned toward it. With their kind permission, K. and I did some slam dunking. At one point, I was holding her so she could dunk the ball and her slip-on shoe fell off. She said, "Uh oh, shoe." That's nearly a sentence--it's certainly a complete thought!
I didn't have my camera with me during our walk, so here are pictures from earlier today. And guess who can blow kisses?

P.S. Look how close she got to getting her shoe on herself!

Blazing a Trail

It was warm enough for K. to wear her seersucker blazer to church today. Giving a smooch to her dad:
Happy.

Fresh Air Friday

Some miscellaneous clowning at lunchtime today. After lunch, K took a great nap, and after dinner we walked to the park and played until bedtime. K. walked all the way to the park and rode in the stroller on the way home. It was tough to convince her to leave the park, and once we got home I stopped the stroller in the garage and took her out. She promptly climbed back in. When we're indoors, she looks longingly outside and sadly says "side."

Where's K?

Moment of Reflection

Cats Bounce

K. found out...
...that if she hits the end of the air mattress in the guest room...
...and the cat's sitting at the head of the bed...
...that the cat will bounce.
"You should have seen how funny it was!"

A Setup for Fun

The other morning, K. was busying herself with her dishes, and when I looked I noticed that she had set the table and put a doll in the chair!
